The new laws for the phone in school are a controversy with parents and their cadets. Many cadets that they think the law is unjustifiable because they think if they are done with their work or anything that they had to do and they just finished, they want to be on their phones to have fun after they did the work.
For some teachers and some parents it’s the opposite. They think that it’s a great thing they have this law in place so that their kids will focus on their work and get good grades. For teachers, it’s a great thing because the kids are paying attention to their lessons and they are more engaged in the class.
On the other hand some parents don’t agree with the law but aren’t so mad. They are glad that their kids are paying attention and staying engaged in the lessons, but they are worried about emergencies where they won’t be able to talk to their kid. The new phone laws are 50/50 when it comes to the opinions of students and parents.
Some of the parents are okay and more than happy with this law but other parents don’t like this law and think it’s not helpful to anyone and is a little controlling over the kids. Cadets all generally share the same opinion, including Crystal Zuniga. She said, “It’s not something I would do if I was making new laws, they should make laws that will help people instead of making laws against phones.”
