Cadet Lt. Col. Alex Pierson is one of the many seniors here at UMA. This is Cadet Alex Pierson’s third year here at UMA, and he has made some fun memories and found activities to enjoy while he’s spent his time here at UMA. “Well, my favorite activity in the school is Raiders and I am the Raider team commander. Outside of school I like to exercise and collect stuff. One thing for example is I like to listen to music and collect it, I also like to read books and collect it.”
Along with the activities Alex Pierson enjoys, he has made some fun yet chaotic memories here at UMA! “My favorite memory at UMA is probably two years ago at a raiders team competition where Sergeant Sharkey took us down to Dixie’s, and it was chaotic in the best way possible. A lot of things happened, it was fun. It was a peak of chaoticness in raiders. One of my friends broke a mirror!”
Cadet Alex Pierson being a part of the Raiders and being their team commander is incredible! However, many don’t know why he joined the Raiders. “A cadet named Teegen Scharp used to go to my old school at Syracuse Arts Academy. In 9th grade, he went to UMA and joined the raiders team. He glazed it a bunch, which made me want to join Raiders. He left when I joined, but I still like the program. He got me into Raiders.”
Despite all of the fun activities and memories Cadet Alex Pierson has made here at UMA, he wasn’t given much of a choice when it came to school options. “It was either UMA or NUAMES; I wanted a career in the military so I chose UMA.”
Cadet Alex Pierson does have plans for the future and what he wants to do once he graduates from UMA. “I plan to get a nursing degree and then join the medical field to become some sort of doctor and join the Air Force.”
Cadet Alex Pierson does have an opinion when it comes to choosing a favorite teacher/teachers. “My favorite teacher was Mr Pickett, he’s just a very good and wise man. Same with Mr. Dockter who is probably my second favorite. Very wise people.”
As this is his senior year, he has clearly made several fun memories and has an idea on what he wants to do in the future. Some advice he wanted to give to the younger cadets here at UMA, “Join a team..please! People who make themselves miserable at this school don’t get it. Please make friends and join a team. You may not like the school, but it gives you a reason to go to this school and to stay here.”
Cadet Alex Pierson has made some chaotic memories, fun memories, amazing achievements, and has definitely done a lot of fun things here at UMA. He knows what he wants to do in the future once he graduates, and he’s got a bright future ahead of him once his time at UMA ends.
